How to make social media work for your TRIO program

Sunday, October 9th: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Cost: $125 – Lunch not Provided

Target Audience: intermediate to advanced social media users

The workshop starts with a brief overview of the basic principles of social media platforms and identifying target audiences. Then, most of the workshop will focus on a 2-part content creation seminar and utilization of key social media platforms for reaching student populations.

Part 1: Get ready to become a content creator using Canva in a unique session made for TRIO professionals. Whether the content you create is for boosting your program’s social media presence, redesigning your logo, or using email banners and physical flyers for promotion, we’ll cover it all so you can utilize this essential tool. You’ll learn how to navigate the templates, brand kit, and content planner. You’ll discover how easy it is to create a distinctive brand using your favorite colors, fonts, and elements. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to use analytics to identify a long-term content theme that will hold your audience’s attention. Presented by Jordan Jay.

Part 2: TRIO professionals will learn how to create, implement, and produce short-form video content for Tik Tok. Along with Tik Tok ideation, participants will be immersed in content creation strategies that help recruit prospective students and retain current TRIO students for the continued success of your TRIO program(s). Presented by Samantha Jimenez Castro.
